Eat and Drink for the glory of God

Eat the word of God and Drink the voice of God and be satisfied

Text: 1Corinthians 10:31

“So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do everything for the glory of God, because you are the temple of God.” 1 Corinthians 3:16, 17&19.

Elijah was fed to go on in God’s mission 1 kings 19:8

“He got up, and ate and drank; then he went in the strength of that of that food forty days and forty nights to Horeb the mount of God.” When the prophet Elijah found the cake baked on the coals, and the cruse of water placed at his head, as he lay under the juniper tree, he was no gentleman to be gratified with dainty fare that he might stretch himself at his ease; far otherwise, he was commissioned to go forty days and forty nights in the strength of it, journeying towards Horeb, the mount of God.

Israelites were fed to go in God’s mission Exodus 12:11

“This is how you shall eat it: your lions girded, your sandals on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and you shall eat it hurriedly. It is the Passover of the Lord.” When the Master invited the disciples to “Come and dine” with him, after the feast was concluded he said to Peter, “Feed my sheep”; further adding, “Follow me.”

Disciples were fed to go in God’s mission John 21:15

“When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon son of John, doo you love me more than these?” he said to Jesus, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” Jesus said to him, “Feed my lambs.” We come to the passover, and eat of the paschal lamb with loins girt, and staff in hand so as to start off at once when we have satisfied our hunger.

You are fed to go in God’s mission Matthew 6:11

“Give us this day our daily bread.” Even thus it is with us; we eat the bread of heaven, that we may expend our strength in the Master’s service.

God will feed us in heaven to go on to be in His likeness Revelation 2:7

“To everyone who conquers, I will give permission to eat from the tree of life that is in the paradise of God”.

Mar 8:2 “I have compassion on the multitude, because they continue with me now three days,  and have nothing to eat” (Mar 8:10) ‘straightway came into the parts of Dalmanutha.” After feeding people Jesus went to pray His disciples went on mission and people went share Jesus’ teaching to their households.

Eat and Drink only to live and to serve God
